The Gift of Giving

Hill’s is proud to be associated with many outstanding charities across South Africa.  Their dedication and relentless hard work make a difference to pets less fortunate than our own.  Since it’s the season of goodwill, we thought you’d like to hear about how Hill’s gives back to the many communities we serve.

This year Hill’s and our employees have:

·        Vaccinated, de-wormed & dipped more than 455 dogs.

·        Distributed more than 180 collars & leads, 100 blankets and built 10 kennels.

·        Been involved with a number of educational programmes for underprivileged communities aimed at teaching  children how to care for their pets and introduce them to the joys of dog training.

·        Boosted adoption rates by 290% at SPCA Cape of Good Hope with a campaign aimed at promoting shelter adoptions.

·        Sponsored feeding of several highly trained “anti-poaching” dogs trained to track arms stashes, wounded wildlife and poachers.

·        Donated money to support approximately 111 sterilizations.

·        Fed some interesting animals besides dogs and cats, including: wild dog, cheetah, white lion, bush pigs, baboons, penguins, kingfishers and blue cranes in a number of wildlife rehabilitation, education centers or sanctuaries.

·        Spent more than R70,000 supporting charities’ day-to-day running costs and sponsoring a number of calendars, books, premiers and walk events aimed at raising much needed funds.
