Hill's
Treat your dog for life – not just for the festive season
Everyone likes a little treat every now and then – and especially now that the festive season is approaching. But although it’s tempting to give your dog scraps from the table, many everyday human foods can actually be dangerous for him.

It can come as a surprise that some human foods can have an adverse effect on your dog’s health. For example, sweet biscuits are high in fat, low in nutritional value and can lead to rapid weight gain. Bones, whether cooked or raw, can stick in the throat or digestive system, damage teeth and cause constipation, whilst other foods such as grapes, onions, garlic and chocolate all contain substances that can be toxic for dogs.

Feeding your dog human food and also giving too many treats can lead to a nutritional imbalance which can have a long-term impact on your dog’s wellbeing. What’s more, if you feed scraps from the table, you are encouraging begging which can be a difficult habit to break once it is establilshed. So don’t be afraid to ask well-meaning guests not to feed from the table or to give your dog the wrong kind of treats.

But of course we all want to reward our dogs for good behaviour, or to give a treat just to show him how much we love him! Now you can reward your dog’s love and loyalty with a clear conscience, with a treat that not only tastes fantastic, but is also good for his health. New Hill’s™ Science Plan™ SNACKS is a new product range with a choice of five delicious and healthy treats formulated to address dogs’ most common needs.
